Integrative Health Pathways-Personalizing Your Genes Part 2

The Integrative Health Pathways Group is a women’s support group that meets monthly to support targeted wellness goals. This month’s group on May 30th at 6:15 pm is the 2nd part of a 2-part series on how to personalize your health by using your genes with a focus on detoxification.

In this group, I will go over a breakdown of Phase 1 and 2 liver detoxification pathways and which SNP’s have a high impact when it comes to the body’s ability to detoxify medication, environmental toxins, pesticides and hormones. Each participant will receive a detoxification tool as a take-home worksheet for these pathways.

If you register and cannot attend the educational session will be recorded for replay later. To ensure a safe space any group discussion portion of the class will not be recorded.

A Guide to Grilling Food

As summer rapidly approaches many people are breaking out their grills with the anticipation of barbeque and summer gatherings. Grilling or barbecuing meat at high temperatures leads to the production of heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

These compounds are known as “mutagens,” which damage DNA and may increase the risk of developing cancer. HCAs are formed when amino acids and sugars present in meat react under high temperatures. Additionally, liquid fat drips into the flame of a barbecue and creates smoke filled with PAHs, coating the surface of the meat.

While the best way to avoid the risks associated with grilling is to use other cooking methods when possible, there are several simple ways to balance the effects of grilling your favorite foods. To help you learn more about these other methods to keep your foods healthy and tasting great WHILE you are grilling I am sharing a guide from the Institute of Functional Medicine on how to grill foods safely.

Hi, I want to officially share something I’ve been putting together for the new year. It’s called the 7-Day 2026 Reset: Refresh, Restore, Renew, and it’s designed for people who want to feel better and not burned out as January begins. This isn’t a detox. It isn’t a diet. And it isn’t about doing everything “right.” Instead, over one week, we focus on foundational habits that support energy, digestion, sleep, stress regulation, and overall wellbeing by using practical strategies you can...

DR. KOURTNEY FUNCTIONAL & INTEGRATIVE GYNECOLOGY & OBESITY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN Hi there! As we head into January, I want to name something I see every single year in practice. Not a lack of motivation. Not people “falling off.” Not failure. What I see instead is physiology catching up after a month that quietly disrupts blood sugar, digestion, sleep, inflammation, and nervous system regulation. And then January arrives… and women blame themselves. If you’re feeling more tired than energized,...

Hello, friend! Let’s talk about your December physiology December has a way of illuminating every system in the body: your hormones, your stress response, your metabolism, your sleep, your gut… whether you’re 28, 38, 48, or 58. Every year in clinic, I watch women of all ages move through the holidays feeling: More wired at night More exhausted during the day More sensitive to sugar, alcohol, or poor sleep More reactive emotionally More aware of what their body has been whispering all year...
